Sunflower oil is typically expeller-pressed or solvent extracted from the seeds of the sunflower plant, Helianthus annuus. After a complete refining process, the yielded oil carries a clear honey appearance with a neutral aroma and flavor profile. Sunflower oil is highly desired for its naturally occurring levels of oleic and linoleic fatty acid content and has become a leading carrier oil across a multitude of industries. With a smoke point of around 450°F, it is largely used for high heat cooking applications such as sauteing or frying.
