Karanja oil is cold-pressed extracted from the seeds of the Millettia pinnata tree, also known as Pongamia pinnata, yielding a yellow to brown oil carrying a characteristic nutty aroma. Due to the oil’s naturally high content of oleic fatty acid, karanja oil is widespread in the personal-care and cosmetic industry for skin and haircare formulations. As a natural astringent, it's utilized in toners, makeup removal products, and daily regimens to treat dry or damaged skin. Karanja oil is advantageous in nourishing and protecting the scalp, often mixed with shampoo to treat dandruff or related dry scalp issues. In addition to the cosmetic and personal-care realm, this oil may be interchangeable for neem oil as a natural insecticide. Karanja oil is not intended for consumption.
